There are many things to love about living in Adel, GA. One of the best things about living in this city is how family-friendly it is. If you feel like you and your family are stuck in a rut, read on to discover our favorite family activities nearby.

1. Wild Adventures Theme Park

One great place near Adel to take your family is Wild Adventures Theme Park at 3766 Old Clyattville Rd. This fun-filled park conveniently combines an animal park, waterpark, and theme park. We love the dozens of rides at the theme park, especially the Aviator. This ride allows you to soar to 100 feet in the air and control when you climb and when you dive.

We also love the slides at the waterpark. The Bonzai Pipelines are one of the most popular attractions at the waterpark. You can choose from three exciting slides, including a green slide featuring multiple dips and a blue slide featuring a massive drop. Keep in mind, children must be at least four feet tall to ride this ride.

2. General Coffee State Park

We also recommend taking your kids and spouse to General Coffee State Park at 46 John Coffee Road. Your kids can enjoy feeding the farm animals that live here, including goats, pigs, sheep, and donkeys. You will love the exhibits that allow you to travel to a simpler time. There are log cabins, a tobacco barn, a cane mill, and much more to explore.

This state park spans 1,511 acres, and it features a four-acre lake. There is also an archery range, a playground, and six picnic shelters open to the public. You can reserve a group shelter if you want to renew your vows with your family and friends in attendance. Additionally, there is an outdoor amphitheater that can be reserved. Some of the most popular activities here include:

  • Hiking
  • Fishing
  • Boating
  • Biking
  • Archery
  • Kayaking

3. Lapham-Patterson House

Another great way to enjoy an afternoon with your family is to walk around Lapham-Patterson House. This home was constructed between 1884 and 1885, and it has been a National Historic Landmark since 1975.

It speaks to the artful eye of engineers who designed it during the Victorian Era. On Fridays, you can get a guided tour of this home at 1, 2, or 3 PM. On Saturdays, guided tours start at the top of the hour from 10 AM to 3 PM.
