July 27th, 2023 by

The 2023 Ford Expedition is a spacious vehicle with plenty of options. Some of its most exciting features include its large touchscreen and impressive maximum towing capacity.

1. The Expedition MAX

Four of the Expedition’s trim levels have a longer wheelbase. This already spacious SUV has a wheelbase of 122 inches, but the Expedition MAX models have elongated this to 131 inches. That space mostly offers drivers a much larger cargo area. The standard-sized Expedition has a maximum cargo volume of 104.6 cubic feet while the MAX models offer 121.5 cubic feet.

The four MAX models are the Expedition XLT MAX, Limited MAX, King Ranch MAX, and Platinum MAX. Altogether, this creates 10 different trim levels for buyers to choose from for 2023.

2. Standard Safety Assist Features

The entry-level Expedition is the XL STX. It comes standard with impressive features like a rearview camera and rear parking sensors. It also has automatic high beams and a lane-keeping system.

Additionally, the base-level and above models come with the Ford Co-Pilot360 Assist+ package. This package includes reverse brake assist and pre-collision assist. It also adds adaptive cruise control, intersection assist, and pro-trailer backup assist.

3. A Large Touchscreen

Touchscreens are becoming a feature buyers really consider when choosing their next vehicle. Drivers want to see an infotainment system with lots of features, intuitive buttons, and a large screen. Ford has noticed this and decided to add an impressive 12-inch touchscreen to the base-level Expedition. This infotainment system comes with advanced features like hotspot technology, connected navigation, wireless Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay.

Ford did actually manage to add an even larger touchscreen to the Platinum model. This top-tier trim level comes with a 15.5-inch touchscreen and wireless charging. Additionally, this trim level adds an available 22-speaker sound system with a subwoofer.

4. Driver’s Gauge Cluster

Ford has been designing cooler gauge clusters these days. In the XL STX drivers will find a large eight-inch screen. This upgrades to a 12.4-inch screen in the Platinum.

5. Maximum Towing Capacity

The Expedition has a lot of power. The standard-sized Expedition has a maximum towing capacity of 9,300 pounds. There aren’t going to be a lot of things you can’t tow with that much power. The MAX models come in with slightly less towing capacity at 9,000 pounds.

This is handled with a 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine and 10-speed automatic transmission. The Expedition uses automatic stop-start technology to help save on fuel.

Ford has designed a powerful, comfortable, and spacious option in the Expedition. With ten models to choose from, there’s a lot for drivers to consider. Visit Cook County Ford now to see our wide selection of new vehicles.
