The thought of engine problems can be nerve-wracking for any driver. It’s normal to imagine a hefty repair bill and days without your Ford. Blocked Catalytic Converter

The combustion process produces a huge variety of toxic and polluting chemicals. The catalytic converter’s job is to change these dangerous chemicals into harmless ones, thus reducing airborne pollution. The conversion process uses a combination of extreme heat, high pressure, and chemical reactions to change chemicals like hydrogen sulfide into harmless sulfur dioxide.

The conversion process generates products, and one of these is carbon. Over time, carbon buildup in the converter can block the exit to the exhaust system. If this happens, the gases in the converter will be forced back into your engine. These gases increase the pressure in the engine, which reduces fuel economy and can cause your engine to stall. We’ll examine the converter and clear any blockages for you.

Loose Spark Plugs

The spark plugs task is to ignite the fuel-air mixture in their cylinder. One of these plugs is screwed into the top of each of the engine cylinders. The fuel-air mixture in a cylinder is compressed and then ignited at the precise moment to generate combustion.

Your engine components are subject to slight movements as you drive. In time, these movements can loosen one or more of the plugs. Electricity can’t flow through a gap, and this can prevent the plug from igniting the fuel-air mixture. In this situation, your engine will misfire. Blocked Radiator

A healthy radiator is essential for your Ford, as it controls the engine temperature and prevents overheating. The radiator acts as a heat exchange to take in engine heat and replace it with cooler air from the outside. Liquid coolant is used to absorb heat and transport it to the radiator. Once the heat is removed from the coolant, the now-cooled coolant circulates through the system again.

Coolant also absorbs debris in the engine like rust particles, dirt, and other junk. This debris is left behind when the coolant exits the radiator. The debris can build up and create radiator blockages, which slow down the cooling process and can cause the engine to overheat. We can fix this problem by removing the radiator and flushing it to clear out any blockages.
