Versatility Features on the 2018 Ford F-150

The Ford F-150 offers more than just 9 cab-size/bed-length combinations. It has six trim levels that allow you to choose between the Spartan fleet style of the XL all the way up through the luxury truck Limited. The 2018 Ford F-150 also lets you choose between 6 engine options.

The first, the 3.3L Ti-VCT V6 is standard on XL and XLT models. This engine allows you to tow up to 7,700 lbs. or haul up to 1,990 lbs. Its 290 horsepower and 265 lb-ft. of torque are efficient and composed, providing instantaneous throttle response and a rewarding acceleration.

Standard on the Lariat trim level and available on XL and XLT, the 2.7L EcoBoost® V6 engine stuns with 325 horsepower and 400 lb-ft. of torque, which work together allowing you to tow up to 9,000 lbs. when properly equipped, and haul 2,470 lbs. This engine manages up to 26 highway miles per gallon, so even with all that performance, you won’t be stopping at every pump you pass.

The 5.0L Ti-VCT V8 Engine is a Ford classic and comes standard on Platinum and King Ranch® models. Towing increases to 11,600 lbs. when properly equipped, while payload also sees a premium 3,270 lbs. of maximum capacity. 395 horsepower and 400 lb-ft. of torque allow you to do more in less time than ever before.

Saving their most capable engine for the top trim level, the 3.5L EcoBoost® V6 engine comes standard on Limited trim levels and is available on XL, XLT, Lariat, Platinum and King Ranch®. This engine can tow a best-in-class 13,200 lbs. and haul up to 3,230 lbs. 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft. of torque won’t cost you too much as this engine gets up to 25 combined MPG.

Off-roading has never been as fun as it is in the 2018 Ford F-150 Raptor. The Raptor receives a high output model of the 3.5L EcoBoost® V6 that sees performance pushed to its limits with 450 horsepower and 510 lb-ft. of torque.

Finally, Ford is the first manufacturer to offer a diesel variant in its class. The 2018 Ford F-150 Power Stroke® Diesel can tow up to 11,400 lbs., haul up to 2,020 lbs., and enjoys a projected fuel economy of 30 combined MPG. That’s better than some cars.
